About Oxford Planning Group

We’re planning for your financial future at every stage.

Oxford Planning Group - Qualified Plan ConsultingLife is full of changes, with many of them having a major impact on your financial health. Our financial planners advise individuals, families and businesses through those changes in ways that build and protect their wealth. We do this with a customized approach that includes retirement planning, investment management and estate planning. For businesses, we also provide qualified plan consulting.

Unlike a broker — who often is working for a large corporation — Oxford Planning Group does not receive a commission for selling a particular stock or mutual fund. What we earn is based on the success of your portfolio. This allows us to be objective in the investments we recommend. Another difference is that our multiple professional qualifications hold us to the fiduciary standard, meaning that we must put the client’s best interests before our own in all instances. With us, your goals come first.

We have clients we’ve known for 20 years and other clients who are just getting started with investing or planning for retirement. Getting to know you well is the best way for our financial planners to learn about your goals. Starting with a snapshot of where you are now, we then look toward the future to help you invest with a comfortable level of risk and reward and work toward reducing your tax liability. The next step is protecting your wealth and guiding you toward retirement. Then we’re there with you through retirement to make the most of the money you’ve worked so hard to earn. We want to be a part of your life.

Oxford Planning Group was founded by advisor Shaun Eddy, CFP®, MSFA, AIF®, who brings over 25 years of experience to our financial planning firm. Learn about our team members’ additional qualifications here.

The CFP® certification process, administered by CFP Board, identifies to the public that those financial advisors who have been authorized to use the CFP® certification marks in the U.S. have met rigorous professional standards and have agreed to adhere to the principles of honesty, integrity, competence and diligence when dealing with clients. The CFP® designation represents their commitment to acting in the best interest of their clients.

The purpose of the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) professional certification is to assure that those responsible for managing or advising on investor assets have a fundamental understanding of the principles of fiduciary duty, the standards of conduct for acting as a fiduciary, and a process for carrying out fiduciary responsibility. It includes requirements for education and/or experience, specific AIF® training, passing a formal examination and satisfying the AIF® Code of Ethics and Conduct Standards.

Oxford Planning Group is a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) firm regulated directly by the Securities and Exchange Commission and the States Attorney Division of Securities for state registered RIAs. They are considered to be acting in a fiduciary capacity, and are therefore held to a higher standard of conduct than a broker-dealer. This fiduciary standard mandates that an RIA must always unconditionally put the client’s best interests ahead of his or her own, regardless of all other circumstances. A broker-dealer is not required to meet these standards.
